Eye Lighting Europe Supplier Declaration - RoHS

Since 1 July 2006 all Iwasaki EYE brand products imported into the UK by Eye Lighting Europe with the intentions of  further sale and use of the products in the UK, EU Countries, & other RoHS compliant countries, have been in accordance with Directive 2002/95/EC (amended by 2005/618/EC) for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).

This legislation has been introduced to ensure a reduction in the amount of certain hazardous substances which can eventually find their way into the environment as a result of failure to be recycled or neutralised, by restricting their use at source.

The substances in question are as follows, and their maximum permitted use must not exceed the stated concentrations:

• 0.1% by weight of lead , mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenels (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)

• 0.01 % by weight of cadmium

EYE Lighting endorses the WEEE Directive

From July 1 2007 any producer, retailer, importer or distributor of electrical and electronic equipment will be obliged to conform to the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.

The Recolight compliance scheme is being created to assist users of gas discharge lighting products in meeting the WEEE directive. It will:

• Ensure that gas discharge lamps are collected and disposed of effectively.
• Provide collection points with purpose-designed containers.

Recolight Advanced Member's Information System (RAMIS) will help producer members to be ready early for compliance with the directive
